Riley and I were at the dog park yesterday evening, as per our usual routine. Like always, I was there with my camera, taking pictures of her and being the crazy dog mama that I am. Riley jumped up on one of the tables like she always does and I started snapping away with my camera. Before I knew it, a random dude had my camera and started taking pictures of Riley and I together. One of my biggest annoyances is having my picture taken by other people- it's just something that's always made me uncomfortable. Anyway, here are some really cute pictures of Riley and some awkward pictures of the two of us, courtesy of the stranger- she was trying to jump off the table and I was trying to hold on to her for the sake of the pictures.

Happy Friday everyone! Where did June go? I can't believe that July is upon is and that July 4th is next week already! Do you enjoy 4th of July fireworks? I definitely do. I am lucky enough that I can see them from my street/front yard, because there is a fireworks display that takes place less than a block away from my home. Any big plans for the weekend? I am looking forward to trying to stay cool and not melting in this 90+ degree heat and I won't even get started on the humidity ;) As always- here are some awesome things I found this week:
These hilarious shirts- that I definitely think Mike and I should get (via No Way Girl)
The awesome Drew Linden, my newest girl crush (I want her body + all of her tattoos, is what it is lol)
This new lipstick style- have you heard of this- ombre lips? I hadn't heard of it...but from these pictures, it looks pretty, don't you think? (via The Beauty Department)
These tiny "playing cards" by Audrey Kawasaki for the Tiny Trifecta group show
These really pretty monogrammed mugs from WanderSketch- I love monogrammed things- and these would also make a cute engagement or wedding present too, don't you think?

This week, Wordless Wednesday is brought to you by Miss Riley of course, both at home & her dog park adventures and also some pretty butterflies that have been hanging around my backyard for a while.
(it's been so windy here the past few days, that her ears are constantly flapping around!)

The area behind our house, where we walk Riley every day, is in dire need of being mowed and landscaped. Because that area used to be railroad tracks, it is technically Federal/County property- which means the County is responsible for maintaining it. They are usually pretty consistent with making sure that area is mowed but thanks to the crazy amounts of rain that we've been having lately, it's growing out of control back there. Sometimes I feel like we're in this crazy grass jungle. The grass is getting so tall that there are times where I can barely see Riley when she's in the thick of it. Some of the extra-tall grass has developed these little tiny grass flowers on the tips and Riley has developed a habit where she has to sniff every single one that she walks by. It's really cute to see her do it and just melts my heart. But then again, almost everything Riley does is cute ;)
