(somewhat) Wordless Wednesday.

May 30, 2012
This week's somewhat Wordless Wednesday is brought to you by bits and pieces of my neighborhood; a trip to the beach with Riley; a  Memorial Day picnic with my family (where I apparently have issues eating cupcakes); and Chinese wish lanterns that Mike got for us to use.

Whenever Mike and I walk Riley behind our house (where there used to be railroad tracks), we try and collect all the old rail road nails/screws we can find. We've got quite a collection started- this is not even half of it!

Riley decided that sometimes not having a ball or stick to fetch is okay- a green mango works just fine!

Can you tell that the county hasn't come to mow the grass the grows behind our house/on the old railroad tracks?

I find it funny that these people own two huge Great Danes and also a tiny little papillon.

Riley always looks for these dogs on our walks, but is scared of them at the same time!

Riley and her papa enjoying the nice weather at the beach.

She loves fetching things out of the water.

My baby girl really loves the beach so much!

I clearly had some issues while eating a cupcake during my family's Memorial Day picnic and of course, Mike had to take some pictures of me looking all crazy ;)

Mike ordered some Chinese wishing lanterns off of eBay recently, because he though it was a cute idea and something fun for us to do. It was actually pretty neat to watch them float off into the sky and watch them fade away until the burned out.

LOVING: I am loving that it is Memorial Day weekend which means a long 3-day weekend and no work on Monday!

THINKING ABOUT: I am thinking about what I would like to do this weekend. Of course part of me would love to go to the beach but then part of me is thinking about all of the extra Memorial Day weekend tourists that will probably be out in full force this weekend, making for extra crowded beaches around here. At the very least, I would love to at least get out to the dog beach and take Riley for a swim. We'll see!

ANTICIPATING: I am anticipating the bill I will get when I pick up my car (hopefully) tomorrow from the mechanic. More like anxiously freaking out- freaking out that it won't cost an arm and a leg to fix it and that it actually DOES get fixed this time. I already had my car at the mechanic earlier this week (a different mechanic) and after $300, it still wasn't 100% fixed!

LISTENING TO: I am listening to "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"- that was/is such a great album. What happened to you Lauryn??? I remember when this album first came out, I had it on CD, and listened to it in my car, on repeat, for weeks and weeks. I know all the songs by heart.

EATING: I am sitting here  eating a Granny Smith apple. I can't ever seemed to get used to the tartness of these kind of apples but they're supposed to be 'better' for you than regular red apples, so I keep eating them ;)

WISHING: I am wishing that Mike and I had a better 'car situation.' His car is pretty much crapped out and with my car in the shop, we've been pretty much immobile and stranded all week. It sucks! He keeps bringing up how we'll probably have to suck it up and buy a new car but honestly, the thought of getting sucked into making car payments again gives me anxiety. I only just finished paying my current car off- and not having a monthly car payment is wonderful!! I do not want to get into that again so soon...but unfortunately, I think it's going to happen sooner rather than later.

Love this!

Happy Friday everyone! I am sorry for not posting last week- I was really busy (mostly because of work) and wasn't online too much to be able to make my weekly post. Today's post will be a little bigger to make up for missing last week ;) Happy Memorial Day weekend- do you all have anything planned? I am hoping to try and make it to the beach at some point (*fingers crossed*) and I have a picnic with my family on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Jamie Beck, an amazingly talented photographer, just took a trip to Morocco and has been posting the most spectacular photos of the trip on her blog. Her photos are not only beautiful, but capture so much of the mood and feeling of Marrakesh, that you feel like you could be there in Morocco with her. Please visit her blog- these posts in particular: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - and check out her trip. It's definitely worth a look!
